Along with all the updates to software and hardware at Apple's WWDC last week, there were there were some silent releases. More Apple Watch bands were made available as well as an Apple Pencil Case in leather for $29. These are available in 4 colours: Midnight Blue, Saddle Brown, Taupe and Black.

I ordered the Midnight Blue one from the Apple Store in Thailand where it was priced at 1200 baht. It arrived earlier today. The product is - in the nicest way possible - no real use at all, although (good heavens) it looks nice. It is a fairly typical Apple accessory with exquisitely designed packaging too. The rolled paper pen that fills the case in the box, is carefully made: rolled, high quality paper with just the right dimensions and a faux clip: a clip which the case it is in does not have.

The Apple Pencil of course slides into the case as an exact fit. If there is stitching, it is so fine that I cannot see it and enlarged photos I have taken show that any stitches that are there are hidden by the superb finish.

With no clip I will not be able to keep it in my shirt pocket with my other pens (it is too long anyway), nor will this be suitable for my backpack. Instead this is best placed in my executive briefcase, along with the iPad Pro that I rely on so much.
