Cassandra

There are reports of a fire in Ayuddyaha at one of the factories belonging to Shin-ei Precision on the Rojana Industrial Estate. The fire is now out but photographs show considerable damage to machinery inside the premises (later estimated at 10 million baht - a little over $300,000).

It should be noted that Shin-ei Precision is one of the many companies set up here as part of the feed to the electric components industry with processes for design and fabrication of metal stamping tools, prototyping, metal stamping. as well as spray painting, powder coating, pad printing and enclosure assembly

Among its customers we note Apple, HP, Delco Singapore, Bay Networks, CISCO, and SGF. While Shin-ei has other factories in Thailand and elsewhere, this is not a good start to the year. There are no reports at this time from other companies of any expected interruption to component manufacture.
