Less than 24 hours ago following a report from AnandTech's Ryan Smith we wrote on the retirement of Anand Lal Shimpi from the site he established at the ripe old age of 32 [age corrected].

This morning, Richard Padilla on MacRumors is reporting that Anand Lal Shimpi is to join Apple in an undisclosed role. His source was an item by John Paczkowski on Re/Code.

The appointment has been confirmed by Apple, but there is no information as to what Anand Lal Shimpi's role will be.

Graham K. Rogers teaches at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University in Thailand where he is also Assistant Dean. He wrote in the Bangkok Post, Database supplement on IT subjects.
