Cassandra: Indonesian Employers Association Expresses Frustration with Foxconn

A report in the Jakarta Post today (online) includes comments from Sofjan Wanand chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo), in which some annoyance with Hon Hai Precision, otherwise known as Foxconn, who do not appear serious in their long-expressed plans to invest in Indonesia.

Sofjan Wanand told the newspaper that "Foxconn only tried to get to know the Indonesian market, while continuing to pour its money into China", while making demands including requests for land. Despite a letter of intent Apindo and others are not convinced of the intent of Foxconn and suggest other electronics manufacturers would, be more suitable investors.
