As a way to help engineering students navigate the problems of study, graduation and early career life, alumni of the Faculty devised a mentoring project. Several alumni met up with current students and over 5 weeks gave guidance to the students about based on their own experiences.

The MU Blueprint project was launched on 22 March 2025 when 27 volunteer alumni mentors met 66 students from the Faculty of Engineering for the first time in a Meet 'n Greet session at the Faculty. MU Blueprint is a project developed by a group of students and alumni from the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University.

The idea came together as a result of a conversation during a holiday lunch between some Engineering Faculty graduates - a few old friends. For those involved, it has become one of the most rewarding ways to give something back. The success of this first year, bodes well for the future of this volunteer program.

The goal was to bring alumni and students together, to create bonds between the Engineering Faculty graduates and students (from all years) currently at the Faculty. Over the following five weeks, the mentors provided guidance to the students on potential career paths, how to navigate challenges, and how they might achieve personal growth after graduation.

The final meeting was held on 10 May, when the volunteers wrapped up the MU Blueprint mentorship program for this year. The alumni mentors, who themselves took the same courses as the undergraduate students offered guidance and suggestions about study and career directions. The morning session was held at the Faculty of Engineering. A QA session between mentors and students was held, with introductions from Chemical Engineering student, Yatipat Hongthong, who is himself about to join a major European company. The students learned about how to prepare themselves for the real world, and there was a recap on what each group had already learned from their mentors.

In the afternoon, the group went to Clear Silicon Thailand, a glass manufacturer, for a factory tour. The CEO, Wison Saisuke was a member of the first generation of students, when the Faculty first establised in 1989. The whole group wrapped the day with generous helpings of bubble tea from the CEO.
With support from the Mahidol Engineering Alumni Association, the MU Blueprint Project marks the beginning of initiatives designed to assist students with different needs. It is expected that, with the success of this brief program, more alumni will join in and strengthen alumni engagement.
