Affinity

Serif are offering discounts of 20-25% on its award-winning Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer applications. The sale of the applications begins today (18 Dec) and runs until 5 January 2018.

One of my favourite apps - one that I have on two platforms - is Affinity Photo from Serif who are based just outside Nottingham in Britain's East Midlands. Serif is the winner of over 200 awards internationally, with more than 6.5 million customers worldwide. The company has around 90 employees. The developer is offering a discount on all versions of its Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer apps for Mac, Windows and iOS until 5 January.

Affinity Photo is available on Mac, Windows and iPad, while there are Mac and Windows versions of Affinity Designer. I have been using Affinity Photo since it was released and I love its tools which are perfect for creative photography: editing and retouching images, or importing RAW files. It is a powerful application. This month the iOS version was named App of the Year by Apple, following the previous success of the Mac version.

The equally well-developed, Affinity Designer is a complete vector graphic design solution. Features, tools, panels and functions were developed specifically for creative professionals.

A number of videos of the applications are available online.

Affinity Designer A 20% discount for the desktop apps runs from 18 December until 5 January. They are discounted to $39.99/£38.99/€43,99 (subject to regional variations) for Mac from the Mac App Store. For Windows the apps are available direct from Serif or the Microsoft Store.

Affinity Photo for the iPad is discounted by around 25%, and costs $14.99/£14.99/€16,99 (with regional variations) from the App Store during the sale period.

One of the attractions for me is that unlike a number of modern graphics suites, Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are available for one-off payments (with free updates), with no subscription.

Ashley Hewson, Managing Director of Serif, says: "It's been a phenomenal year for us and we look forward to another year of welcoming many more professional creatives who are experiencing the power of Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for the first time."
