Street Art

When I visited the show of street art at the Soy Sauce Factory in in Soi 24 Charoenkrung Road in June this year, I was impressed with the way that what some denigrate by the name, "graffiti", was being far more widely accepted as a serious Art form. And a collectible Art form too. The influence of Banksy has helped, but locally there are some good artists including Muebon (featured at the earlier show) and Mau Mau.

The local art house, Souled Out Studio has announced a limited edition of 45 of the work of artist Mau Mau entitled Strëëtsy. It will be hand-stencilled on 3mm block aluminium. At a price of £165 (8456 baht) plus mailing these will be made available on Monday (8 Dec) at 4 pm, UK time: that should be 11pm in Bangkok.

Mau Mau

It is also announced that Mau Mau and another local street artist, Beejoir, will be opening a collaborative show at Stall Baggage in Tokyo, next week (12 Dec). Best of luck with that, guys.
