Hanx Writer

A couple of days ago, I reviewed the unusual Hanx Writer - a writing app put out by Tom Hanks in collaboration with Hitcents. This takes the simple interface of a typewriter, with all the click-clack sounds, and provides a clean writing surface without all the formatting features of many other writing apps: just like a typewriter.

The app has been updated and a number of fixes have been reported:

  • A potential issue when purchasing the Writer's Bundle has been fixed;
  • An issue with multi-touch on buttons is fixed
  • There is a fix for devices without cameras

There are also other general bug fixes.

As a note, the app does not work with other languages. I switched the iPad to operate in French, and while all apps and commands were in the selected language, Hanx Writer displayed the QWERTY keyboard only.
