Cassandra

At the weekend I speculated that we can expect a number of Apple products to be released in the next month or so and that the new IEEE wifi standard of 802.11c will be available with these products. I see this as key to part of Apple's future strategy in the home and in the office, providing easy integration and transfer of larger amounts of data between devices.

One of the devices I expect to have an early update is the MacBook Pro and I wrote, "As the MacBook Air was recently updated with the Intel Haswell processor which improves battery life no end, it is expected that other notebook computers will be equipped with more powerful versions of Haswell as they become available".

There are now a number of reports concerning benchmarks that have been tracked by Geekbench for a new 15" MacBook Pro model with the Haswell processor. Details, as provided via the Apple Bitch site, are sparse at the moment, but we should expect more reports about this and other devices that should be in the pipeline right now.

Several other sites are also reporting on this including AppleInsider which has some screenshots of the benchmarks showing that the device is running 16 GB of RAM and uses OS X Mavericks (10.9).
