Epson Corporation of Japan earlier today released information on the transfer of its optical business to Hoya Corporation. Depending on approval of the relevant authorities, the transfer is expected to be completed on 1 February 2013.

The press release includes the information that Epson will transfer its optical products business of eyeglass lenses to Hoya. The two companies' related businesses will be merged and leveraged worldwide.
